Facts About Chinese Herbal Medicine
What Do Chinese Herbs Treat?
Chinese herbs treat the full range of human illnesses. Each patient is treated individually based on the state of their whole body rather than one or a few symptoms. For instance, you may suffer from insomnia. In Traditional Asian Medicine there are at least 5 different formulas for insomnia. We will distinguish which one of the formulas is best suited for your constitution, taking in mind all symptoms that may appear to be unrelated to insomnia, such as digestion or emotional tendencies. Classical formulas may be modified and/or blended for each your individual needs.
Becky takes a detailed history on all of your body system’s functions, using careful observation and palpation techniques. Her various findings are combined into a composite diagnosis based on the observation of patterns revealing which body systems are in disharmony based on Chinese medical theory. A personalized formula of herbs is written to treat the both the symptoms and the underlying cause of the disease.
Becky will monitor your body’s return to relative balance “homeostasis” and make appropriate adjustments to your herbal formulas and treatment plan after each visit. She will always check any pharmaceutical drug interactions with anything in your herbal formals and educate you on how and when to take your herbal formals.
