About Niasziih Healing
Niasziih (pronounced Nia-Z-I) is a holistic, nature based body, mind, and spirit healing modality. Niasziih roughly translates as "vessel of healing" and combines the concepts of "oneness" and "fusion of flesh and spirit". It is aimed at bringing balance and awareness to patterns and belief structures that keep us from living life to it's fullest in peace, love, joy and purpose. It is a philosophy of choice and helps to heal the wounds that affect our body, mind, and spirit and while mining them for their potential gems and gifts. Our job as a healer is to help people them help themselves to change their perspective so they can shift and heal themselves. One of our greatest goals is help them to choose a powerful story for their lives and then to aid and facilitate their journey of building bridges from their current reality into a newly discovered story.
I practice Niasziih healing both by itself and along with acupuncture and acupressure. The healing looks very similar to hands on Reiki or acupressure and Qi Gong, finding and helping you remove and heal old emotional and spiritual block, beliefs, images, and patterns in your body and mind. This looks like me curious and asking questions and following tracks that lead us to the areas called to be healed. These blocks cause physical disease according to this philosophy.
Niasziih has been recently named, but was an art form and way of life and healing practiced by the elder, scout, shaman and holy man, Stalking Wolf, who passed along his knowledge from his Lipin Apache lineage to other healers.
In 1998, I began my lifelong journey into Niasziih of both learning and of experience through practice when I started taking classes at the Tracker School taught by Tom Brown Jr., one of Stalking Wolf's students who has passed along these teachings and this philosophy.
I must reiterate that this is a lifelong journey that requires much learning and practice. I hope to truly to be and become the healer that Tom Brown describes in the quote below. Because of the expansiveness of this modality, words are very hard to describe what actually goes on in this healing philosophy, but I will attempt to give you a translation and description of how I personally understand it be.
"First of all, the healer must be one with the Earth. He has had to find the time to understand himself through the eyes of nature, learning who he is and where he fits in. He has had to break down the barriers that keep him separated from the natural world so that there is no inner or outer dimension. His prime source of understanding and knowledge must come to him from the Earth, and he must realize that he is nothing more than a hollow vessel that the Earth uses to heal. He listens with his heart not with his head, and he truly cares for people. He loves his enemies, for he believes that no matter what you send out, so too will you get in return. His care toward the land and his brothers and sisters is a powerful driving force. He is not only a healer of people but a healer of animals, plants, and Earth. His power can be felt in the love he has for his patient and the faith he has in the Creator."
